Proposal for a Reservoir near Abindgon

Thames Water- Upper Thames Major Resource Development (UTMRD)

The drawing below shows the proposed route of the canal around the reservoir.
Thames Water will build the draw-down channel with the necessary infrastructure as part of the scheme  and this will become the Wilts & Berks canal when not required to empty the reservoir.The Trust is also suggesting that if the reservoir scheme is approved then the remainder of the canal around the perimeter of the reservoir should be constructed at the same time.
