Hayes Knoll lock, near Cricklade, is completely derelict and Swindon Branch has set up a project to re-construct it.

If you have been looking at our website for a while you may wonder why this project is not finished!

We have shown a number of start and end dates but the project has been delayed by some essential environmental issues. A number of wildlife surveys were needed and the team has worked closely with Natural England to get the correct licensing arrangements in place before the start of the project.

The licence has been received and work has commenced as from November 1st 2009.
