November 1875: Provisional Canal Sale
The Committee of the management of the Wilts and Berks Canal Company announce to the shareholders that the provisional contract for the sale of the canal to Mr Fox has been finally accepted by him, and that an application will be made to Parliament in the ensuing session for an Act to carry such contract into effect.
