 Council leader Rod Bluh comfirms that work is still underway to secure funding for the £75m scheme to run a waterway through Swindon. Swindon chairman Keith Dowding reported that people going into the Trust's shop in Theatre Square were quite positive. People seem to think that this canal would be a dead-end cul-de-sac, whereas it would link up with the Kennett & Avon at Semington, with The Thames at Abingdon and with the Thames & Severn Canal at Cricklade.
