The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust is committed to returning this historic waterway to a navigable state. Originally started in 1792 and opened in 1810 the canal linked the Kennet and Avon canal near Trowbridge, with the river Thames near Abingdon. It was officially closed in 1914. We have a number of branches along the route and always welcome new members to support us in our efforts. Please feel free to explore our website and learn more about this amazing waterway.
