• Fourteen years in the RAF. Worked for several national and local engineering companies; now running my own commercial catering equipment business. Town councillor for Allington ward Chippenham.
• Whilst at RAF Lyneham in the mid nineties I was asked to help a friend bring a boat from the Nene at Northampton to Lechlade near Swindon. Having never been on a narrowboat I jumped at the chance of a week's free boating holiday. It took two days to ‘get it' - that tranquil feeling. Ever since then I've been hooked on canals.
• If re-elected I will continue to push the canal agenda not just on the restoration front but also through membership, social events, trip boat running, stall manning at local events, forging partnerships with local groups and business whilst forming closer ties with other branches
