Wilts & Berks Canal Trust is pleased to report that Santa visited the Swindon section of the Canal over the past two weekends.
In addition to the usual pleasure of canal boating in Swindon the trips had a Christmas atmosphere. The children met Santa and received a gift from him, while the adults enjoyed a glass of mulled wine. The swans were seen as well as Henry the grey Heron, a friend of Santa.
Anyone who has already enjoyed a trip on the narrowboat Dragonfly may be pleased to hear that the narrowboat will be running on Boxing Day morning at 10.30, 12.00 and 13.30. (Unfortunately Santa will be to tired to join us)
Boarding at Kingshill Swindon.
There is under cover seating and the boat is heated

"Just a note to say how much we enjoyed today. It was lovely and by far and away the most relaxing visit to see Father Christmas we have ever had."

"Many thanks for a very pleasant trip on Sunday. The whole family enjoyed it especially my daughter who loved meeting Father Christmas. From a personal point of view I liked the laid back atmosphere of the trip and of ‘Santa' himself. All too often the Santa's are a bit over-powering and In-Your-Face. This can sometimes frighten the children. I think you got the whole trip spot-on. I have attached a copy of the photos that I took, ‘Santa' asked for a copy Many thanks to all of you for the efforts that went into the trip."
