Current Restoration projects 2006/7
The aim of the Trust is to allow public access to the restored canal. At present much of the canal is still privately owned and although the Trust will have an agreement to work on the sites shown here, if you are visiting one of these sites you must use a route that has a public right of way
The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust does not encourage of condone trespass onto privately owned land

Project 1 Bridge construction, Steppingstones Lane Shrivenham
In conjunction with the Waterways Recovery Group West Vale Branch are rebuilding the brick arched bridge that carries the bridleway from Steppingstones Lane

Work on the project will continue throughout 2007

Project 2 Chaddington (Bincknoll) Lane Wootton Bassett
Spill weir Construction
Wootton Bassett Branch are building a new spill weir adjacent to Chaddington Lane Wootton Bassett

Project 3 Seven Locks Bowds Lane nr Tockenham
Re-construction of Lock 4
Foxham & Lyneham Branch are continuing work on the Seven Locks flight having completed Lock 3
Work on the project will continue in 2007 and completion is expected in 2008

Bowds Lane nr Tockenham
Please note that there is permissive access from Bowds Lane only as far as Lock 4

Project 4
Pewsham Locks and canal pound to Naish Hill
Melksham Calne and Chippenham Branch are repairing culverts and spill weirs in order to re-water the canal between Pewsham Locks and Naish Hill. When this is completed work will begin on repairing the flight of locks at Pewsham including the saw pit and dry dock. Work is expected to continue during 2007 and 2008
