A great friend of the canal was Marlene Northcott and as a tribute to her a plaque was placed near Moredon by her husband
This picture shows Dave Northcott unveiling the plaque and presenting a cheque for £500 to Henry Smith the Chairman of Swindon Branch.
The plaque reads:
