Restoring 70 miles of canal and towpath for the benefit of local communities, wildlife and leisure

Planning Consent for Naish Hill section of the canal has been granted by WC subject to a number of conditions, which will need to be discharged before work can commence

This section was always a problem from 1796....volume of water coming off Naish Hill resulted in slippages of the land. This was eventually sorted but current Trust engineers concerned about this vol of water once canal re opens. Spill weir is large and will allow controlled run off to the river Avon. Newt ponds will need to be created as current ones will form part of weir.
