New manager for the Visitor Centre

We are pleased to announce that the Trust Visitor Centre in Swindon now has a new Manager, Julie Johnson-Little. We look forward to her energy & enthusiasm taking the team forward and giving the Trust greater prominence.

The Visitor Centre is close to Swindon’s central library, at the top end of Regent Street, with limited parking outside the centre, but two large public car parks are nearby. Swindon’s buses drop their passengers at the library door too.  We stock leaflets to use for walking along different lengths of the canal, plus some magazines and leaflets about other parts of Britain’s canal network. A video is usually playing on our screen to introduce some particular section of the canal and its history.

You may want to become a Trust member, and you can also sign up here to become a volunteer for working on the canal, should you wish. Opening hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Saturday (excluding Wednesday).  email: visitor.centre@wbct.org.uk.
