Visit to Pewsham

Liz & I spent a very pleasant afternoon at Pewsham recently, taking a trip on The Mary Archard and appreciating the silence of her electric engine - just the lap, lap, lapping of water on the hull.

We also enjoyed tea & cake at the pop-up cafe, then walked right along the towpath & beyond as far as the Reybridge road, pausing to admire this tiny spillweir.

As we got back. we witnessed (and helped a bit) the process of getting the boat out of the water, using the recently widened slipway.

On the first warm & sunny day of the year, it was a truly delightful experience!
