Wilts & Berks Canal Trust at Chippenham Museum – Half-term Community Engagement

In a joint venture between WBCT volunteers and Chippenham Museum, 31 children and 36 adults from the local area enjoyed various activities for young children during the recent spring half-term.

At the museum, in the town’s Market Place, activities included boat-making from card, clay brick-making, card plate decorating, creating dragonflies from string, horse-brass brass rubbing and colouring pictures.

In addition, there was a small display of posters where our volunteers discussed the work of the Trust and our aims for the canal’s restoration. Interestingly, some of the parents knew the canal well, but those who didn’t said they were looking forward to exploring the area.
