Record Numbers at Sack House Open Day

By David Craske, Communication Co-ordinator, East Vale & Abingdon

thumb Sack HouseI would like to thank everyone who came to the first Sack House open day of the year on Saturday 25th May.

Judith and myself opened up the building at 10.00am and still had people coming in at 2.00pm when we were closing.

Around 45 people visited in total, which is an all-time record for a Saturday.  I think it's the power of social media, as most had seen the Facebook posts.  We might have found some new work party volunteers to boot (no pun intended).

The Sack House is open from May to September on the last Saturday of each month from 10.00am to 2.00pm.  Entry is free.

We also open for the Wantage Dickensian Evening, which is usually first Friday in December.  Come and join us for mince pies and a coffee on what is usually a cold night.

The Sack House is located at the bottom of Mill Street in Wantage - postcode OX12 9GF.  To find out more, please visit wbct.org.uk
