Local History Research Workshops

Local History Research Workshops

The Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre in Chippenham is offering a series of ten local history research workshops starting in October.

With tutoring and discussions led by historians from the Victoria County Library and the University of the West of England (UWE), the workshops are open to all.

The series begins on Monday 7th October and will run fortnightly on alternate Monday mornings from 9.30am to 1.00pm, with a refreshment break during the session.

Topics span an A to Z of local history – from the working lives of men and women to land ownership and from the local historian’s toolbox to the history of the landscape.  Canals are featured in the workshop on movement and migration on Monday 27th January 2025.

Organised by Wiltshire Victoria County History Trust in association with Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre, the Regional History Centre and UWE, workshops cost just £10 per person.  Pre-booking is recommended, with limited tickets available on the day.
