Dragonfly is the Canal Trust’s narrow boat. She is probably the best known and loved attraction on the Wilts & Berks Canal restoration project. She has worked hard and reliably as our main canal trip boat for several years, crewed entirely by our volunteer members. She has given great pleasure to her local friends in Swindon and to visitors from far and wide.
Dragonfly was built in 2010 and now needs an overhaul and refurbishment before the 2020 summer season to enable the Trust to continue offering trips from her Wichelstowe base in West Swindon.
The Trust has launched an appeal, with a target of £12,000, to lift Dragonfly from the canal and take her to a safe working place for an overhaul and refurbishing project which has been carefully planned to keep her time out of service to a minimum.
