Our window to the world

We organise or attend many events throughout the year, to promote the Trust and the work we do. From village fetes to boat festivals, from the Towpath Challenge to the Melksham River Festival, from WI talks to Donkey Shows, you will find the Trust and our wonderful volunteers flying the flag, talking to members of the public, explaining the aims and the achievements of the Trust.

Royal Wootton Bassett branch talk

The Angel Hotel, 47 High St, Wootton Bassett SN4 7AQ, UK

At our October meeting Peter Turvey will give a talk about the Crofton Beam Engines. (Peter is Chair of the Crofton Branch of the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust.) The steam engines are the only ones in the country still working and performing the function they were built for. If you haven't visited, there is time to fit in a visit at the end of July or August Bank Holiday when there will be steaming weekends. There is a lot of history and engineering to hear about, and work to make the site a great visitor attraction with a bar and cafe.
