Thurs 2nd Martijn Antheunisse heard his first skylark of the year while planning planting with WBCT members along the new Studley Grange length.

 2017-012-9 Hedge_layed_on_Harris_Croft_Farm

29th January  Interested to see a section of towpath hedge through Harris Croft Farm has been laid. This is a public footpath through private land so this has not been done by the Trust, but must be done by or for the landowner. Let’s hope the newly-laid hedge will be host to a symphony of birdsong in the years to come. Kath Hatton and I walking from Templars Firs - suddenly out of the towpath hedge jumped a deer, right into the canal and out the offside. Two dogs down the field were chasing it. Jenny Stratton
