Board of Trustees: This is the strategic decision making body of the Trust, and which has final accountability for all governance and financial decisions within the Trust. Headed by our Trust Chairman, Brian Stovold and ably supported by elected and appointed Trustees.
Executive Committee: this is the operational part of the Trust, headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Matters, and supported by members of the Executive. Each Executive member is responsible for the day to day operation of their portfolio.
Branch Structure: Our membership is organised into regions covering the whole length of the canal.
Membership: WBCT is a members organisation and largely relies on membership subscriptions for the central running costs of the organisation.
Partnership: The Trust is a member of the Wiltshire, Swindon and Oxfordshire Canal Partnership which embraces all the Local Authorities along the route, Statutory Authorities and other interested organisations who work in partnership to achieve the goal of full restoration.
Everyone has a really strong empathy with water and this empathy, along with the green spaces created by canal restorations, is identified as a clear benefit of restoration schemes
