New Compound and Slipway at Wichelstowe

New Compound and Slipway at Wichelstowe

Swindon branch desperately needs a new maintenance compound and has been offered a temporary site by the Wichelstowe Joint Venture Developer.

The site at Mill Lane, close to the former site, will include a small slipway for trust use. Eventually we will have to find a permanent base on the Swindon to Royal Wootton Bassett length. Even small projects like this must go through the full planning application process including the environmental protections. After consulting the planners, a planning application is being prepared and Keystone Ecology have been contracted to deal with protection of the water voles.

We expect to start construction in the Autumn.
