David was an active member of the MCC branch of the WBCT back in 2012/15 but with the diagnosis of having Huntington’s disease, he found the work to be quite hard for him at times.
That did not stop him from coming to the work parties. As his health deteriorated and found himself is not able to drive any more, yes as you can guess, that did not stop him from coming.
He went out and bought himself a bicycle (electric) with a round trip of 12 miles. Eventually though David was not able to make the work parties but that did not stop him from thinking of the canal.
As his wife said David never stopped talking about the canal and once, he got his electric Tramper his wife would bring him to Pewsham, for him to go along the towpath on it.

The time he spent with you all whilst volunteering on the Wilts & Berks Canal Restoration were very special to him and he even mentioned the canal when he was most unwell.
The memories he had of the "team" sustained him through many rough patches throughout his illness.
He loved his visits on his Tramper to see how things were progressing.
He really treasured your friendship and support.
