IMG 20240225 094947 766Rejuvenating old hazel stools proved tricky as the branches were tangled and awkward to unravel. However, not to be defeated, we got there eventually with a bit of pushing and tugging. All the brash was used in the dedge and logs stacked for wildlife piles or firewood.

We planted hazel, spindle and elder trees, plus woodland plants in the space created by the coppicing, protected by the dedging.

Shout out to the usual green team crowd - Andy, Raine, Graham, Gansh and Martin – who were joined by Ian, Richard (first day volunteering) and evergreen Bob Howlett. We also had volunteers Kim, India and Henry from Good Energy Ltd, who provided a youthful balance to the crew.

Take a look at our YouTube short https://youtube.com/shorts/z0863DkLQrc?si=hlEEqJ4FRxuLJvpe of the day.
