We usually think of boats floating in water, keeping it out. Strange to find our trip boat Dragonfly on bone dry land, pumping water INTO the canal! What had happened was that while she was (still is, of course) out of the water, she had to stay there, unworked on, during lockdown; when it rained, the automatic bilge pumps pumped the rainwater out. But without ever running the engine, they eventually drained the batteries, & the water had built up to almost floor level! So volunteer Paul came along with his generator, and enabled the bilge pumps to work, which is what you see. Paul has now taken the batteries home & charged them up - so we should be OK until we can finish the refurb (currently re-started) and get her back in the water where she belongs.
